Training behind the wheel (BTW) is defined as training at the range and on public roads. This training requires both forward/driving procedures and various reversing maneuvers including straight backing, off-set backing, alley docking, and parallel parking. There is also a pre-trip inspection that must be mastered before the test. This is the most strenuous part of the course and requires dedication on the part of the student. The language required for the Department of Transport skills test is unique and must be studied intensively.
